Experience and Interests
I have over 7 years of teaching experience in Higher education, including course design and co-ordination, across three institutions (Glasgow, Open University & St Andrews).
During my academic career I have delivered lectures and seminars on a variety of courses within the fields of social and urban geography, social and urban policy, and qualitative methods and analysis.
My main teaching interests are:
- Housing, neighbourhoods, cities
- Government & governance
- Poverty & place
- Qualitative methods & analysis
I would be interested in supervising topics in the broad fields of urban social geography and urban policy, but especially those related to my research interests.
I currently supervise two PhD students:
- Ciaran McDonald (2011-pres) Cultural regeneration in urban communities in Dundee and Edinburgh
- Lorenzo Pergola (2011-pres) Evaluating the Impact of Cultural Activities in Edinburgh and Dundee.
